Group Exercise/Personal Trainer

Are you a friendly and motivated health and fitness enthusiast? We are currently looking for responsible, dependable fitness instructors and personal trainers who take pride in providing resources to our community.  Applicants must be 18 years or older, CPR certified, and have a personal training or group fitness certification, college degree equivalent, and/or experience that relates to fitness leadership.  Contact Amy Byerhoff

Water Aerobics Instructor
The Fitness Department is looking for a motivating, enthusiastic person to lead our Water Aerobics classes. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, a high school graduate or equivalent, and hold current CPR/First Aid certification. A YMCA Water Fitness Instructor certification, AEA, ACE or AFAA certification is helpful. Contact Amy Byerhoff @ 916-452-9622 ext. 130.

Child Watch Staff

We are looking to hire a fun, energetic person to work in our drop-in child care (Child Watch).  Child watch staff responsibilities include providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children of members while they work out at the YMCA.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old and, a high school graduate or equivalent, and hold current CPR/First Aid certification.  A minimum of 6 months experience working with children is required.  Fax your application or resume to Pat Wolfe, Senior Program Director at  916-452-7724 or by e-mail to patw@sacymca.org.

Lifeguard

Must be at least 18 years of age and posses current lifeguard, YMCA or American Red Cross and Community CPR for the Rescuer, AED, and Standard First Aid. We offer flexible shifts. We have an indoor, 6 lane pool. Guards are responsible for maintaining a safe, enjoyable swimming environment. Contact Pat Wolfe @

Swim Instructor
Looking for experienced swim instructors. Must be at least 18 years of age and posses current lifeguard certification. Current swim instructor certification through the YMCA or Water Safety Instructor is encouraged. We teach ages 6 months to 99 years. We have an indoor pool with a large swim lesson base. Central Branch School Age & Pre-School Teacher
Under the direction of the classroom Head Teacher/Site Director, a teacher shall plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum; supervise and interact with children in the child care setting; model appropriate play for children; create opportunities for the children to develop socially, physically and emotionally; be available for informal parent-teacher contacts during drop-off and pick-up times; and other duties specific to the program's needs.

Full-time and part-time afternoon Childcare Teachers needed in West Sacramento, Downtown Sacramento, and Rancho Murieta.

Entry Requirements:
Must meet the requirements of the licensing agency and the Department of Social Services.

These requirements include:
- Must be 18 years of age and high school graduate or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years experience working with a comparable age group.
- At least 12 completed college units in approved classes that meet licensing requirements.
- Must meet licensing regulations concerning minimum health status.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid and Community CPR.
- Must possess enough physical agility to respond quickly to children's needs, and be able to lift children up to 40 pounds.
