Pre-School (24 months to 5 years old):
The focus of our preschool program is to teach social development skills
and to encourage positive interaction with peer and adults. We
work with children to develop skill in language, listening, making
friends and following directions. Center activities include field
trips, nap time, large and small group circle time. A nutritious
breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily. The State Childcare
licensing ratio for preschoolers is 1:12. The YMCA strives to
maintain a lower ratio whenever possible.
Pre-School Room 1 (24 months to 3 1/2 years old):
Due to the numerous developmental skills such as large group
socialization and potty training we strive to maintain a ratio of 1:6.
Pre-School Room 2 (3-5 years old):
Children must be completely potty trained. Children are
taught large group socialization skills in a classroom setting.
Your child will be introduced to colors, numbers, and letters helping to
prepare them for kindergarten.
